THIS PLACE IS SET TO FIRE UP!

It's that time of the year again! V2 Youth Camp 08! I am expecting God to pour, rain, splash, let out His power on ALL who come this year. (Yes, ALL) I am tempted to stay in this place and don't go back until God moves powerfully! (Pastor, can or not, you?)
REVELATION (that's our theme) means a tangible touch from God who loves us. A touch that changes everything! A touch that will break any bondages of sin or bad habits or laziness or blogginess (huh?) or handphones or computer games and etc. And when that happens, there will be no U-TURN!
SO, for those who have not signed up....don't miss it! Don't miss the opportunity of God's powerful visitation.

Venue: El Sanctuary, Melaka
Date: 17-20th August 2008
Cost: RM250
Duration: 4 days 3 nights
Speaker: Rev. Joanne Lee (Senior & Youth Pastor of City Community Church;
former Youth Alive Malaysia Committee member)

LORD, PLEASE SEND ME TO AFRICA (II)!

LORD, PLEASE SEND ME TO AFRICA!

The title above was not sung by me but by Joshua, Ps. Anne's nephew cum godson. He went for a month (yes, yes, a month!) to a remote village in Sudan, Africa for a mission trip. I haven't spoken to him (during this bloggy entry) but from Ps. Anne, he did a great job, teaching English, Bible, guitars, and playing football with them. But what struck me was the meals he ate there. For the whooping one month, he ate only beans and rice! And to the African, that is already luxury! OMG! When he came back, at the airport, he wanted to eat ice cream and all of a sudden, he actually lost his tastebuds for ice cream! I salute you, Josh! Great job! (He will be coming to the Vineyard Church this Sunday, talk to him personally)

Here we are thinking of this for lunch....

YOU WERE NOT BORN TO MULTI-TASK!

The above comment was a conclusion to a radio’s message of not doing something else while driving. “DEAD WRONG”, I screamed foul! Maybe they heard my wail that they decided to end that advert. How could one NOT multi task in this world of plurality. Don’t tell me I cannot watch TV and read my newspaper at the same time. Don’t tell me that I cannot eat my ice cream while I enjoy watching football. Don’t tell me I cannot eat my pop-corn while I enjoyed the movie, MUMMY! Spiritually, don’t tell me I cannot play my piano and worship God! (I can’t play piano lah, I am speaking for Sher-Mayne). Long winded lastly, don’t tell me I cannot serve in other ministries as well as being a Youth Pastor.

Ahbathen, when you are driving, please don’t multi-task! When you are having exams, please don’t multi-task. Important! Important! When you sit and listen to sermon, please DON’T multi-task!

Conclusion: You were born to multi-task - but do it wisely!

WHY CHRISTIANS AFRAID OF CAR-STICKERS?

I am guilty! I don't put up car stickers (Christian ones) because I'm afraid I could shame His Name. I believe it's the same with us not telling others we are Christians because we could make a mistake and they would mock Christianity. To be honest, we care about ourselves more than proclaiming Jesus' Name! I like one car sticker that says, "I am not perfect. I am forgiven" We don't share Christ only when we are perfect and that would take like forever. We share Christ despite our imperfections so that God becomes more important than us!

Having blah that above, I suggest this Car-Sticker for Christians. This simple words tell so much. I got this first from Jenn Ming.

LIFE IS SHORT

DEATH IS SURE

SIN'S THE CAUSE

CHRIST THE CURE

Thought of making this for V2 Youth Camp fund raising!

JESUS, YOU'RE ALWAYS MY COOLEST HERO!

CHRISTIANS, SHOW THE WAY

This bloggy entry is taken from MBC's blog in 2006 and it's still relevant!

Lately, in Malaysia, there are some discussions that touched on race and religion which have created some discomfort among many. By and large, Malaysia have been spared from many natural calamities and also some race and religious turmoils that happened elsewhere. All these attributed to none other than God's grace! If everyone takes it for granted and continue to argue and fight, then the consequences will be terrible!

It's time for Christians to roll up our sleeves and show the way! We are the light of the world and as we shine, darkness has to go! How do we shine? The same as Jesus did! Demonstrate love even when there are so much hatred. Show kindness when people don't deserve it. People just don't care what you say when they know that you don't care! Treat others as you want others to treat you. Do you like to be treated kindly? Then be kind to others. Do you like to be cheated? Then deal honestly with others!

What Jesus is saying to each of us is change the world around you! Did you make a difference in your family? Did you change the way your friends look at God? You see, Jesus actively served when He was on earth! And He wants us to do the same. Even on the cross, He was still changing lives! The Centurion declared that He was the Son of God! The thief leapt from hell to paradise. Some heard him prayed that awesome prayer...Father, forgive them for they do not know what they are doing...

Therefore, we can make a difference in our society today! Make a little impact. Smile contagiously. Serve unselfishly. Shine brightly. Give generously. Encourage relentlessly! Everything you do, do it all for God's glory!

JESUS SAID...
(John 13:34-35) "A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another."
