MORE GREAT MOTHERS IN MALAYSIA

I blogged about Kong Le Lee being the current greatest mother in Malaysia. There are two more mothers I want to pay tribute in this bloggy entry.

1. Few day ago, there was a teenager in a court case, convicted of acting violently against an officer, reported in the Star newspaper. The judge was about to sentence him and to everyone's surprise he (the judge) turned to this particular boy who was caught together with many others, all of them were in the courts that day. He lectured the teenager about his mother, who is a single mother, that she raised him up alone so painstakingly by being a security guard to make ends meet. And now how he (the boy) broke her heart by doing this wicked thing. The judge ordered the boy to go over to the sobbing mother who was sitting there to ask for forgiveness. The boy went over, knelt down and seek forgiveness from her and he wept. He promised not to repeat this again and vowed to be a good boy in obedient to the mother. Almost everyone in the court were teary eyed including all those more serious offenders. Then the judge said this, "Your mother has saved you from a harsher judgment" and did not jail him, instead he must be in police's good books from then on.

A son is always a son to a mother no matter what! When I read this news, I thanked the judge for a powerful sentence he had given, not prison but a healthy rehabilitation!

2. I read another heart breaking news today of a family who died in a capsized boat except a boy. He was struggling in the water about to drown when he stumbled upon his mother's dead body floating in the water. He hung on the body until he was saved. Even a dead mother still fulfilled her responsibility! She saved her son by her death which I believe she would do when she is alive just like Kong Le Lee!

I believe there are many other inspiring stories of great mothers! THANK YOU MOM!

THE GREATEST MOTHER IN MALAYSIA

I have just read the heartbreaking story of Kong Le Lee who was burnt to death yesterday in her own house in Johor. She had ample time to run out of the house to save herself but she didn't. Why? That was because she was searching frantically for her son, not knowing that her son was rescued earlier by her husband. She died looking for her son, ever willing to give everything to see the son well, including her precious life. Today I pay tribute to her, the greatest mother in Malaysia at this moment.

Mother's Day is coming soon (May 10th) and let us not forget our own precious mothers who painstakingly raised us all up. I never forget my own mom who showed undying love for all her children, protecting us and sometimes getting upset when she saw we were mistreated. I know this celebration is commercialised by some overzealous merchandisers and gift shops but it is not so much the gifts but the heart of it all. There are many things we can do for our moms apart from buying things for them, such as bringing them for holidays, giving them a special dinner filled with thought through programs etc.

This peom below I want to dedicate to all mothers, especially Kong Le Lee...

SUPERMOM

Mom, you're a wonderful mother,

So gentle, yet so strong.

The many ways you show you care

Always make me feel I belong.

You're patient when I'm foolish;

You give guidance when I ask;

It seems you can do most anything;

You're the master of every task.

You're a dependable source of comfort;

You're my cushion when I fall.

You help in times of trouble;

You support me whenever I call.

I love you more than you know;

You have my total respect.

If I had my choice of mothers,

You'd be the one I'd select!

BLATANT LAWLESS ACTS

(2 Tim 3:1-4) But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God...

I read with unbelief of two lawless acts now happening in two places, making me feeling disgusted.

First, the place is Gulf of Aden where ships from all across the world sail in its waters doing business. It is so important for the world's economy to counter the downturn. But the pirates are taken advantage of this and would risk their lives to hijack ships for ransom. They have weapons like machine guns, grenades and launchers and they will not hesitant to kill and maim crews on board if they are being challenged.

United States and many other countries have sent navies to that area to protect and stop these Somali pirates but they are not even afraid. When US navy killed some pirates and rescue a hostage, they said they would revenge the killings. I have never heard of such blatant lawless people who think that the world owe them everything. They believe it is the right thing to do. May God have mercy on them!

Second, the place is Mexico's border with US. It is a complete chaotic place where drug dealers are fighting a running battles with police and the army of Mexico. Curbing drug violence is a top concern for the government in Mexico, where rival cartels murdered 6,300 people last year as they battled the authorities and each other for control of lucrative smuggling corridors to the United States. Even in Tucson, US, just next to the borders of Mexico, drug dealers are terrorising the neighbourhood. What is happening to people today? Outright rebellion against good! Greed has overtaken the minds of people that no one cares for the dignity of life anymore!

These two places have already made my blood boiling in disgust, not mentioning those suicide bombers who blew up innocent people for nothing in so many places!

I remember a wise saying from an evangelist, "It is better to reach out to kids now before we repair men later." Preaching the gospel must never be an option! The Word of God must be spread throughout the world as the water covers the sea. If you want to see a better world, you must dispel darkess with the light God shines on you!

TO ALL FACEBOOKERS AND TWITTERERS!

These are the days of Facebook and Twitter! Young and old are dragged into wanting more friends on their own sites to outdo each other. CNN recently has actor Ashton Kutcher challenging them for a first million Twitter followers (currently CNN is leading slightly). Twitter, which allows users to swap messages and links of 140-characters or less, It is something like instant news smses flashed on the Internet linking friends and followers all over the world. Now, everyone wants to have a say and wish everyone "hears" it. If you plot and slog in your blog, you want hot hits! Someone commented, it is a hip playground for those with an overinflated sense of self-importance.

Someone asked me once, "why should I start a Facebook account?" I replied rather unconvincingly then, "To influence friends for the better." Now, I do believe that. It is not for show that I have more friends than you. But how many Facebookers or Twitterers really want to influence people for the better when all they want is to "show-off" or for celebrities like Kutcher or Britney Spears, to make more money or become more famous?

"Ever worry that the ever-increasing barrage of status updates from Facebook, Twitter, and every other real-time, hey-look-what-I’m-doing-and-look-what-happened-just-this-very-second service may be outstripping your brain’s capacity to process them?" Scientists seem to believe that. In other words, we are simply overloaded to process properly.

They even suggested that Twitter could numb our sense of morality and make us indifferent to human suffering. Before we can process properly and learn, pops up another scenario and issue. Multitasking to the extreme can cause numbness to the brains.

So, to bloggers, twitterers, facebookers, please do it to influence people for the better. Don't add on to the misery already aplenty in this world. Also watch out that you Net savvy people, don't simply add things for our cluttered brains to work overtime. We don't get paid for it, you know.

GOOD FRIDAY POEM

I tried to get a right poem for Good Friday to this blog but couldn't until I found this one. This was written by Frogzter. I thank her for a beautiful,marvellous poem! Praise the Lord!

I cherish the old rugged cross,
for what it truly means to me,
for while I was still a sinner,
my saviour died to set me free.

The cross represents my freedom,
to follow the ancient of days,
it guarantees my salvation,
as I learn to walk in His ways.

It means that I am a believer,
and I fall prostrate at his feet,
when I kneel to humble myself,
His presence is ever so sweet.

The cross stands for humanity,
stepping stone to heaven above,
I throw my burdens at his feet,
and revel in agape' love.

For our Father so loved the world,
he relinquished his only Son,
that no child of his should perish,
when once our lives on earth is done.
Dear Lord, I give you glory and I worship You! I can never thank You enough for what You had done for me, a lowly being who doesn't even deserve Your second glance. Yet, You endured the cross just to save me. Thank a quadrillion x quadrillion times! I will live to serve You and honour You, my Lord and Saviour. Amen!

MANCHESTER UNITED VS LIVERPOOL; WHO WILL WIN? -

CONFIRMED SCORELINE: LIVERPOOL 2; MAN U 1

The nation is again holding its breath for the tri-elections' results to be announced tonite at 9pm. Since there are positive vibes flying everywhere with the New Prime Minister installed, I shall name Barisan Nasional, "Manchester United" and the underdog Pakatan Rakyat, "Liverpool". The top of the table clash will see who has the most support from the Rakyat! This is a must-win for both teams to help morale and for each team's progress towards the ultimate "Premier League" trophy, the 13th General Elections, about three years from now.

What would be the score? Liverpool 3 - M.U. 0 ??? An upset?

Some predictions, M.U. 2 - Liverpool 1 and Liverpool 2 - M.U. 1

What's yours?

PS: My favourite team in EPL is Liverpool and I pray that they will win the league. But for elections, I am for those who help the Rakyat and Malaysia as a whole.

KNOWING - REVIEW

Yesterday I watched the movie, "KNOWING" and found out it was excitingly terrifying prophecy show that was tinged with Christian background. I don't want to spoil the show in case you haven't watch it but let me do a little review for you.

The visual effects were suberb and REALLY frightening. The acting was brilliant! It was like prophecy, action, horror and sci fi all rolled up in one. It is gripping and intense! Only Hollywood could produce such block busters.

As a Christian, I felt satisfied with the end results although the doctrines are not accurate but who can blame them as Hollywood is always thinking of MONEY more than pleasing religious ones like me. At the end, I was pleased.

Anyways, the show reminds me of the coming of the end-time prophesied in the Bible, and sometimes, Hollywood talks more about it than Christians do. I wonder why? Maybe they feel something that we don't! After coming out of the cinema, I am assured that the Second coming of the Lord Jesus is close!

My Rating: Must see (but be afraid, be very afraid)
